(PRWEB) August 28, 2005

The movie Olga tells the tale of the german jew Olga Benario Prestes (1908-1942).

A comunist activist since her youth, Olga is persecuted by the police and flees to Moscow, where she undergoes military training. She is place in charge of escorting Luis Carlos Prestes to Brazil to lead the Communist Revolution of 1935, falling in like with him during the journey.

With the failure of the Revolution, Olga is arrested with Prestes. 7 month pregnant, she is deported by Vargas' government to Nazi Germany and gives birth to her daughter Anita Leocdia in prison. Separated from her daughter, Olga is sent to Ravensbrck concentration camp where she is killed in the gas chamber.

From a bourgeois childhood in Germany to the death in a Hitler's gas chambers, the film portrayes Olga Benario Prestes' life and communist militant ideals.

Having as parents Eugene Gutmann Benario, descending of a rich Jewish family, and Leo Benario, lawyer and influential personality of Democratic Social Party, Olga entered in the Communist Youth when she was only fifteen years ancient. Since childhood she was very related to the internal structure of the German Communist party, already illegal in this period. Five years later, she invaded the prision of Moabit and, in a daring action, she rescued the communist teacher Otto Braun on the moment of his judgement.

In 1928, Olga and Otto were sent by the party of Soviet Union. In Moscow, she received military trainning 9in the Red Army and was designated by the International Communist (Comintern) to take care of captain's Luis Carlos Prestes. As his personal safety Olga was designated to bring him back to Brazil. Where be would command the first communist revolt in South America.

In a risky trip going through Europe and the United States and disguised as a rich couple of Portuguese in honeymoon, Prestes and Olga really fell in like. The 37 years ancient expert and disciplined soldier revealed himself as a shy man, that had never been with a woman before.

In Brazil, the couple joined the other members sent by Comintern and living under secrecy. The group started to organize the communist revolution. But, the movement was tragically defeated. All the ones in revolt were squeezed by Getulio Vargas' police; many were arrested and many others faced the death.

In 1930, Olga and Presetes were arrested and they never saw each other again. The person responsible for the imprisonment was Filinto Muller, head of the Military Police of Brazil's Federal District.

And so, a seven months pregnant Olga was deported to Hitler's Germany prison where her daughter, Anita Leocadia, was born. During the whole time she'd had being arrested, Olga changed correspondences with her husband and continued preaching their ideals of freedom and social justice.

As a fourteen years ancient girl, Anita was separated from Olga.

Thanks to an international campaign deflagrated by Prestes's mother's tireless efforts, Dona Leocadia, the child was saved and given back to the family.

Olga never saw Prestes or their daughter again. The militant was some of the ones first victims in gas chambers, being killed in the city of Bernburg, in 1492.
